'Twas the realtor before Christmas

Inspired by (and apologies to) the original writings of Clement Clarke Moore / Henry Livingston, Jr. ;)

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that our realtor, Danielle Hrasko, would be there.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sold signs danced in their heads.
And mama in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our moving plans for a long winter's nap.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow,
Gave the lustre of mid-day to our for-sale sign below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a black Audi, and eight HomeLife reindeer.

With a smiling driver, ringing a bell,
I knew in a moment it must be realtor Danielle.
More rapid than eagles her buyers they came,
And she whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!

"Now Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen! On, Comet!
On, Cupid! on, on Donner and Blitzen!
To the top of the stats! to the top of the board!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.
So up to the house-top Danielle flew,
With the sleigh full of showings, and a realtor or two.

And then, in a twinkling, as I turned around,
Down the chimney she came with an offer in hand!
She was dressed in a suit and a shiny red pen,
Excited as always, patiently explaining, again and again.

Her eyes, how they twinkled! Her smile like cherry!
The signing of the offer made all of us so very merry!
Sign here, sign there! Signatures here and fro,
And then it was done, our thoughts moved to escrow.

She spoke not a word and went straight to her work,
Negotiating the price, with the efficiency of a clerk.
Subjects were removed, as everybody knows.
On the sign outside, a sold sticker now shows!

She sprang to her Audi, to the other realtors she gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard her exclaim, without any indifference,
"Merry Christmas to all,
choosing the right realtor DOES make a difference!"
